Perfect Pumpkin Patches in Los Angeles

via Giphy

Ah, autumn in Los Angeles! A time when the fiery hues of fall create a canvas that beckons all lovers of the season, including yours truly. Over the years, I've made it a tradition to venture out and experience the vibrant pumpkin patches that dot the LA landscape. I fondly remember my visits to Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch and the Pumpkin Patch at Tanaka Farm. Both were awesome experiences, though definitely crowded with other Angelenos eager to get their pumpkin pics too! This year, I've set my sights on the magical Carved at Descanso Garden and the enchanting Pasadena Pumpkin Patch.

While many visit these pumpkin havens for the classic joy of selecting that perfect pumpkin to carve, my trips have a dual purpose. Beyond the allure of handpicking a pumpkin for Halloween (something I’ve done since I was a kid growing up in NorCal), these visits provide the most charming backdrop for a fall-themed photoshoot. Dressed in my best "LA fall" attire, I plan out all of my photo opps with not just my fiance but my friends and family, as well.

And for those wondering, these venues make for great Fall festivities for families! The plethora of activities on offer, from hayrides and face painting to pumpkin crafting and petting zoos, ensure a day filled with laughter and fun. Don't miss out on the scrumptious offerings of food trucks and local vendors either – a delightful accompaniment to your pumpkin patch adventure.

Being a Halloween girly through and through, my love for the spooky season is evident–see my Halloween Events in Los Angeles post for reference. But let's not forget, beneath my eerie-loving exterior, I'm also a Fall girl at heart. Pumpkins, Tennessee Whiskey spiked apple cider, and the crisp air always send my heart aflutter.

However, as I embrace the joys of the season, a little reminder to all my fellow pumpkin patch enthusiasts: let's practice some Pumpkin Patch Etiquette! Meaning;

  1. Don't trample on the pumpkins in the patch.

  2. Stay within the designated walking paths.

  3. Don't hold up the lines at the signature photo opp locations.

  4. Be courteous to other visitors AND staff

  5. And have a fun, respectful time!

Happy Fall, everyone! 🍂🎃
