Double Date Night at 60Out Escape Rooms

For a person who has general anxiety, I oddly enjoy paying to be locked in a room with no way out except to rely on the wits and skills of the people who happened to be locked inside the room with me…

What a wild sentence to write! If you haven’t figured it out by now, I’m talking about doing the challenging activity of escape rooms!

Ever since I started dating Arjuna, we’ve been on the hunt to find the best escape rooms in Los Angeles. So far, we’ve done about 6 different escape rooms (within the last two and a half years) and by far, my favorite was 60Out!

One thing I love most about 60Out Escape Rooms is that they have such a wide variety of escape rooms available, and in a bunch of different locations throughout Los Angeles. They seriously have an escape room for everyone! If you like the ocean, they have Nautilus, if you’re into carnivals, they have Hyde Circus, they’ve got an escape room for horror lovers, and, of course, for light-hearted Disney fans like myself, they even have an Alice in Wonderland escape room! This was the room I did with Arjuna, and my two friends Ashley and Leo!

I’ve been on a real Disney kick lately (but honestly, when am I not?) and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to try to escape from the Queen of Hearts!

As soon as we walked down the hallway toward the escape room, I was already noticing some awesome Alice-themed artwork on the walls, and when we got to the door, I knew I arrived at the right place!

If you’re not familiar with escape rooms, let me give you a quick breakdown;

  • Your goal…ESCAPE!

  • How to escape, you ask? Well, by solving a series of riddles, puzzles, and clues! You have one hour to work with your teammate to solve all of the puzzles and find your way out! Each clue you find and each riddle you solve, the closer you get to freedom!\

Okay, now that you know how an escape room works, let me go back to what happened when we walked into the escape room. As soon as we got in, the host gave us a little spiel about the situation we were in. We learned that our objective was to find Alice and help prove her innocence and free her from the grasp of the evil Queen of Hearts!

Once we knew our goal, the timer started counting down from one hour and we were off to find our first clue! I can’t give anything away because I don’t want to spoil this escape room for any of you who might go (which I hope you do)! However, I can tell you that our puzzles had a lot to do with hats, tea, the Cheshire Cat, and, of course, playing cards!

It took us about 40 minutes and two hints to find all of our clues, save Alice, and escape! We had so much fun figuring everything out and even just being in the rooms! The decor was superb and I really felt like I was in Wonderland! I want to go back just to do a photoshoot! LOL

But, seriously, though it wasn’t the most difficult escape room we’ve ever done, it was a fun challenge, and I will definitely be finding myself back at 60Out’s doors for more escape room fun!

The next time you’re thinking of an idea for a date night, friend hang, or double date, I recommend doing an escape room or two with 60Out Escape Rooms in Los Angeles! The Alice in Wonderland Escape Room pricing ranges from $90 for two people to $192 for a group of 6. Prices vary for dates, times, and amount of people in your party. Good luck with your next escape!
