Autumn Bucket List

It’s here! It’s here!! Autumn is finally here! Break out your pumpkin-spice lattes and cinnamon-scented candles because it is time to get COZY!

For some of us, this means running through piles of leaves and going to pumpkin patches in the best jeans and flannel combo. For the rest of us, it means switching from sunshine yellow tanks to terra cotta t-shirts and sipping on hot apple cider pretending it isn’t still 80 degrees midday. Wherever you are, it’s Fall and you have a right to celebrate no matter how hot it is outside, or how restrictive your state is on Autumn activities (California basically banned trick or treating, but the kids will still get their candy)!

Because I’m in California and Covid-19 restrictions are still very much a thing, I’ve gone ahead and created a fall bucket list that is safe, COVID-friendly, and still guaranteed to help you live your best fall girl dreams! Without further ado, here is the Borderline Millennial COVID-Friendly Fall Activities Bucket List!

Order a Fall Themed Drink

If you’re ready to be the most basic witch, then you obviously have to order yourself a Fall drink! Pumpkin-Spice Lattes is a classic, but if you want to switch things up, order yourself a Pumpkin Chair or for those not into coffee, get a Pumpkin Frapp!

Decorate Your Home for Fall

Decorating my apartment is my favorite way to get into the Fall mood! I love swapping out my throw pillows on the couch, putting my little pumpkins and leaves on display, and shopping for Autumn decor! If you don’t already have a box of decorations, you can use my guide for Fall decor shopping on a budget!

Visit a Pumpkin Patch

I love going to pumpkin patches! I love putting on my flannel, jeans, and booties and having mini photoshoots in fields of pumpkins! I even love getting lost in the corn mazes that often accompany the pumpkin patches! Unless you’re in Indiana or another state that has less Covid-19 regulations, you’ll likely have to opt for going to a drive-thru pumpkin patch, like this one in Irvine, California. I plan on going in a few weeks so I will let you know how that one goes!

Have a Spooky Movie Marathon

As soon as it hits October 1, you’ve got to start watching your spooky movies!! Start with some easy ones like Addams Family and Hocus Pocus, and then finish off the month with some of the more scary movies like Scream and Halloween. You can have these movie marathons with your roommates, or, if you live alone or away from your loved ones, take it over to Facetime. Do what I do, and call your friends up on Facetime and sync up your movies on Netflix using Netflix Party!

Carve Pumpkins & Roast the Pumpkin Seeds

Once you’ve gone to the pumpkin patch or bought a pumpkin at your local grocery store, it’s time to carve!! You can come up with your own design if you’re feeling creative, or, if you need a little inspo, click here to view some free printable pumpkin carving stencils! Then, to limit your waste, take your fall activity one step further and roast your pumpkin seeds! Here’s a simple recipe to make fool-proof roasted pumpkin seeds.

Bake a Fall Treat

Nothing says “Fall” quite like baking! The temperature is cooling, so it’s the perfect time to start using your oven again. Choose your favorite recipe, like a pumpkin roll or even a homemade apple pie and get to baking!

Visit a Drive-Thru Haunted House

Much like pumpkin patches, haunted houses are switching to be drive-thru experiences! That’s right, you can now get scared in the comfort of your own car. I’m not quite sure how this is going to work and how I’m not supposed to hit the gas as soon as I get scared, but I love Halloween and I love Fall so I’ll take one for the team and find out how it’s all going to work. Here’s a list of a few drive-thru haunted house experiences in Los Angeles.

Complete a Fall Inspired DIY Project

You don’t have to be crafty or rich to do DIY projects! In fact, DIY projects were created to save you money! This is why I highly recommend you do a Fall DIY project. You can make your own decor or trinkets, but my favorite activity is turning cheap Dollar Tree items into faux-luxurious Fall home decor. Check out this video by Liz Fenwick DIY to get inspired!
